Sigenics plays critical role in Intracortical Visual Prosthesis brain implant project

Sigenics is proud to be a partner in the groundbreaking NIH-sponsored clinical trial of the Intracortical Visual Prosthesis (ICVP) project.

Phil Troyk, President and CEO of Sigenics, is the principal investigator leading 8 institutions in this team effort to implant Sigenics-designed microchips into the brains of people with blindness, with the goal of restoring some of their vision.

The 8 institutions include:

  • Sigenics, Inc.
  • Illinois Institute of Technology
  • Rush University Medical Center
  • Johns Hopkins University
  • University of Chicago
  • University of Texas, Dallas
  • Microprobes for Life Science, Inc.
  • The Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind
